• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

What are the best book to film adaptations?

If you say Jurassic Park I’ll fly to you and kick you in the throat.

“One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest” has to be #1 right?

NO TALKING SHIT ABOUT RYPIEN.

2nd to that is either Theisman or Sean Taylor. Either way you’re getting your ass kicked.
I’m a skins fan and very fond of the days of Rypien, Byner, Sanders, Clark, Monk and Mitchell, brother. I was 9 and then and the 92 suns will always be my favorite teams.

Sean Taylor is probably my number 2 or 3 skin of all time. Damn near cried when he died. So, I’ll supply the bourbon and you can withhold the ass whooping.

Was mentioned on the Discord thread, Pillars of the Earth.

The book took time, but once you got into it, a great story.

The show was as series. The wife and I actually rented it from the library. This was about 10 years ago so I don't know where it can be found. Great cast with Ian McShane being the lead protagonist.

We Were Soldiers. Met Joe Galloway on a cruise at dinner. We discussed the movie adaptation and he said Hollywood got it 90% right and for Hollywood that’s pretty good.

Pillars of the Earth and World Without End are both on Starz and Prime.
