1) Family / Friends - If they aren't safe, healthy and happy its hard for me to be happy

2) Job - My job allows me to see that the things in #1 happen. I actually enjoy it to some extent, although that enjoyment diminishes the older i get

3) Having fun - If #1 and #2 are taken care of, fun is the only thing left!

It does in my house. So far this year, the A/C man has replaced my capacitor, outside fan motor and thermostat for the grand total of $100 through my home warranty company.
Damn that’s always nice when the home warranties come through. I got a full upstairs HVAC system in my last house covered by the home warranty. They fought it hard but I got it done

In the last 5 years I've had my a/c unit rebuilt, a new refrigerator, a new water heater, new washing machine and service calls on other stuff. Besides the monthly premium, I'm only out of pocket about 30% of the total costs including deductibles.

The first couple of issues required a "word of prayer" with the HW company. Now there is little hassle.

So you keep yours going? I’ve only had them when they get covered for a year after buying a house

Yep. I signed up when all my appliances and mechanical devices were either the originals (30 years old) or had been replaced years before at much expense. I may drop them when all the other devices get replaced---dishwasher, oven, stove and burner (original from 1984) in heating system. Plus, I get a free spring and fall check up on the a/c and heater.

That’s good thinking

I signed up when my mortgage company recommended them. Early on when I started having problems and got delayed responses, I called my mortgage company. They made a phone call or two and shazam I got immediate results.
I’m always looking for new ways to work the system
