Water is calm, but a big ass stingray sent everyone running

Was amazing seeing the fish so close all day yesterday. Not very common here.

The stingray even made its way back. It was huge.

Most importantly, lettuce not forget homemade donuts from dinner at Casa Tua last night. One of the nicest restaurants in Miami.....20210506_224856.jpg20210506_152328.jpg

The stingray just wants to be booped on the nose. Like a great white. Friggin harmless unless you piss it off for some reason. Tiger or Bull shark? Or a box jelly? That’s when you GTFO.

I love how clear the water is down here. It does make it a little crazy with sharks though. At my club we can see everything and when a shark comes through everyone panics and gets out of the water. Growing up in Jersey and going to the shore you couldn't see the bottom and you know there were sharks everywhere.

There's a beach NW of Green turtle Cay we used to visit every time we went down there. the whole point of that beach was to go feed the stingrays. You take some fish with you & put pieces between your toes & theyd come nibble it off. Had to watch out for the sharks though, they started coming after too many people started doing this.

Was that a manta ray? If so, they're harmless. I've been within about 5 feet of them on Ft. Lauderdale beach. There were about 7-8 of them swimming in some strange circular pattern and coming up very close to the shore. I was in just over knee deep water. Very cool experience.
