China probably thinks they already won. They might be right...they do already control much of our media, academia, celebrities and politicians. Seems like they are doing a good job of taking us down at the moment.
Reading a paper on the Russian economy right now. From what I've read so far they are heavily relying on other countries being open to the idea of establishing trade relations with them, but there are just too many countries that rely on the west and don't want to face sanctions.

China seems to be there only real ally in all this and even they have a lukewarm response. It seems like a majority of China's aid is in response to trying to screw over the US. However, even they can't afford to be cut off from the west like Russia was. The US is their largest trading partner, and Americans love finding stuff to get pissed off about. The US seems to be indicating to China "Fuck around and find out" with Taiwan. We are also taking steps to reduce our dependence on Taiwan for chips, and were they to get invaded it's entirely possible they would share trade secrets with the west as a fuck you to China.

Most of the world is not sanctioning Russia. Our state dept is basically threatening countries to get on board after bribes failed early on. Turkey seems to be debating leaving nato and most of the middle east seem to be happy to stick it to the US.

People need to get that our government isn't as popular globally as we are told domestically. Our economy is the only thing keeping them "nice" with us.

It's going to be an interesting few years. It's obvious that 'Brandon' is just along for the ride, and not capable of making decisions. The rest of the world recognizes that better than half of the people in the US. If we lose our hold on currency, that will definitely shake things up. We're on our way, but I'm not sure the rest of the world trusts China and Russia any more than they trust us.

China is going to take Taiwan, and biden and the rest of the bought & paid for politicians won't do a thing about it.

Totally agree with you. I didn't know it at the time of posting, but the July 23 grain deal that was struck between Russia and Ukraine is actually better for Russia. They export way more grain than the Ukraine and they also get to trade their grain without restrictions. It seems to me that Russia might benefit more from that deal than the Ukraine.

I don't think the world will just roll over if they do this in open conflict. I think you're right that Taiwan will be under Chinese control one day, but I think it's a bit further down the line. From what I've been reading and hearing they can't really afford the risk right now. There has been trouble that started in the Henan region and has been slowly spreading. I think that's something they want to focus on first before they look to take any real risks. They've been posturing around the straight but this is actually the perfect opportunity for them to take back some ground, but I don't think they're going to get greedy. They crossed that line in the sand and it seems to me that the world has decided to accept it. China has always played the long game and this was a big step forward for them.

And a quick question. I think we all agree that China's economy is looking wayyy worse than ours. But does anyone think that is a good thing for them not lashing out militarily? Wouldn't it make more sense for a closed society to blame all their ills on foreign interest and go to war? I'm looking at this historically.

Do any of you think if China's economy implodes that they will just sit there and take it?
