• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Solar power ? any of you thought about buying some kits or have some experience ?

talking about the packages that can power your fridge and range for a few hours, etc. Most ofthe stuff I see on Amazon is questionable.

This company looks like they have their act together
You got to think that the technology will continue to improve. I think at some point everyone will have some kind of solar power backup generator. Got to think we can't be too far off

Only way is for the gov't to pay for it. No way they can install their Global Warming initiative if every one in broke and unemployed.

Saw where an Alabama solar plant closed because OBiden removed the tariffs on Chinese made solar panels.

The only place solar panels needs to go is on AF 1 and then it goes on a long nighttime flight across the ocean.

I'd be interested in something like this if you find something OP. I do have a toy hauler that has 2 panels on the roof, but they only power low voltage stuff, not enough for a fridge, etc. Maybe if I added more batteries and some different electronics it could be, but I'm not sure.
