Really depends on the usage. If you're looking for a safe place for documents to protect them from fire, then yes, you'd want it to be fireproof which would also be waterproof. If you're looking for a quick access to have in the event of someone breaking in, maybe the biometric, but I don't know if they make those in fireproof versions or not. Probably do, but just cost more.Anyone with strong feelings / recommendations on safe brands / types?
Not looking for a bank vault, but something to store a couple of hand guns, important docs, cash and other valuables.
Worth getting it anchored?
Fire proof? Water proof?
Biometric vs other?
TIA fellas.
Definitely anchor it! Otherwise it can just be stolen & they can take their time opening it later. I have read good things about Liberty, but there are tons of good options & honestly I don't have first hand experience with anything that good. What's your budget?
This is a good video that gives alot of info on gun safes...what you need, and just as important, what you don't.
Appreciate it. No budget.
funny you mentioned this my next home project is tearing out the door frame and shelving in my spare bedroom closet to install a safe and then case it back up.. I've been looking at the white Cabela's Signature its around $2800 which is pretty cheap
Or I'm thinking about ripping out the drywall inside the closet and lining it w 26 gauge sheet metal and buying a vault door
Fir proof and anchored is wise. When my place burned down I wish I had thatAnyone with strong feelings / recommendations on safe brands / types?
