Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Reach out to your local Congress person's office. They should have some pull to expedite things there. I had a relative do this successfully in the past. No idea if it's commonplace, but definitely worth a shot.

Get online and Google expedited passports. You can usually get them in 48 hours or less if you pay an extra couple hundred bucks. At least you could pre-Covid, not sure about now.
Cannot do this right now, you can pay for expedite but it is taking 12 weeks or more. They are not taking same day appointments right now because of covid. Had to get one for my daughter this summer and we paid the expedite but it still took 2 months. We got it the day before we left for Greece.
I checked for same day appointments all over the USA and could not find an open appointment anywhere.
Like another poster stated above, maybe @Chris Farley can go to the office himself and get it done? You have have to go to Atlanta or New Orleans or some other regional office and wait in line.
I tried this and there were no appointments anywhere in the country, was going to fly her round trip to get one and could not get an appointment anywhere. It is not just walk in and get it you have to schedule an appointment. Checked two months out (which is also the limit it will let you check)

Pay the extra $60 for rush but will still take 8 weeks. Also the post office was not doing them she had to go to the local probate office to get it done.

Looks like for life-or-death or Urgent Travel they will take in-person appointments. You have to call and make appointment, no online registration.
Serious answer, contact your congress critter or senate critter. That’s your best shot at getting it expedited.
