Need Vegas Hotel Recs

Possibly the last “family” trip for us this summer and our starting point is Vegas. Fly there, then head up through Death Valley, through Sequoia, then Yosemite, up to Tahoe, then finish with a Jack White concert in Reno before flying back from there. Daughters are a senior in high school and college junior. (I’ve already posted pics, including the wife, so don’t bother.). Need a rec for a Vegas hotel. Haven’t been there in a while and don’t know the “newer” places.

Whatcha got?

What’s important to you? Do you want to be in the Strip? Will you be doing things outside of the main tourist areas?
Do not need to be on the strip. Want newer, non-tired place that isn’t a traditional Flamingo type place. Aren’t staying in town more than a day or so. Plan to see a show like Cirque, let the girls shop while I gamble a little, then head out.

Cosmo. See if you can get a Bellagio fountain view. Only hotel with balconies. Has some nice suites as well. Prices vary significantly from day to day (or event).

Edit to add- if you want a sports book it may not be the best.

Depends what you are looking for. If you don't want to be on the strip, then either Green Valley Ranch in Henderson or Red Rock Hotel in Summerlin are both good. If you want a family friendly spot on the strip, the Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian, or Mandalay Bay are all good.

Aren’t places like the Venetian tired and worn out? Bella going might be on the list. Any update on its status, room renovations, etc.?

The Venetian was the last of the large theme casinos. It’s okay but I find the theme a little corney. Regarding tired, the property is well kept. However, the overall decor is outdated.

More current and well kept properties include

Bella- nice place not as trendy as Cosmo

Cosmopolitan- modern/trendy. Depending on the time of year it may have more privileged, self-absorbed college students than desired (especially with high school girls in your family)

Wynn- very nice

There is a new Hilton on the strip. Haven’t been there but heard good things last fall.

Aria- very nice. A bit quieter than other casinos. But a really nice property.

Thanks! This is more in line with what we are looking for.

I stayed @ Aria several years ago. It’s nice, but a long walk to anywhere on the strip. Michael Douglas & Morgan Freeman were filming a movie in the casino area while we were there.
I’ve stayed @ Mirage, Bellagio, Venetian, Aria, Nobu, and Wynn.
Wynn is also nice, but, again, a lot of walking involved.
I’m typing this sitting back in Nobu. The drawback here is not great views, but it’s right in the middle of Caesar’s - close to casino & Forum Shops. It was pretty nice to just walk past the long lines in the lobby and right to concierge check-in. I also have heard that DiNiro is one of Nobu’s bigger investors...
