You’ve been strong this year! I have the playoffs set up like a crap shoot because 8 teams make it, and really anyone can win, but the regular season champ is the real champ. We used to give most winnings to reg season champ when we had money leagues

Kinda going through a transition phase from local friends and family to a TFSF league, but we’ve got a lot of participation and might could try to notch up the competitiveness again

Thanks pal. I love the competition. The more active people, the better. I'm down for any football league or baseball. I also think having a small buy in is beneficial bc it helps force people to stay accountable.

I'd consider firing the teams that the managers aren't active at all too. Some teams haven't done anything as far as moving guys to IL, dealing with byes, etc. What's the point of having a team if you're just going to do the draft and then leave it as is the whole season?

Completely agree. No reason not to in my opinion.

Hardest thing is finding active teams to replace them. It’s kind of a coin flip

But I guess better to dump someone you know want participate
If we ever need more people, I can try to recruit a friend or two. I think a buy in helps two fold, keeping people engaged and attracting new owners. Fantasy football should be fun this year.

I gave up sugar, junk food/pop , most fast food and any/all shit food in may. Haven’t spent a day in the gym or done any organized working out and have lost 30lbs of fat by mid July it feels like I took a time machine back 10 years but feels like I gained 20 years of mental aptitude. I’m a very active person so once I pushed thru those first 2-3 weeks I started to get energy back more every day get up at 530 bed at 12am don’t even drink caffeine any more.
We’ve been poisoned as a country for so long and it’s disgusting and the more I look around at people and see what we’ve become It just makes me grind harder

I haven't been all that consistent with everything, and we had a bit of an unusual year as a family, so my diet and exercise routine was sporadic. Overall though, I'm on a good path. This morning, I was down to 217.5, which is down from 227 in mid June after a few weeks with family in town, vacation, etc.

My first goal in the short term is to get down to 210, but I'm also gaining muscle at the same time so it's a bit slower of a process. I don't think I've been under 210 for about 5 years. As an adult, my all time low was just under 200 about 7 years ago, but that was after about a year of really hard work and strict eating. I also wasn't lifting a ton at that time, so probably had less muscle mass.

Started to give up pop in april and 100% off by early May. I felt so good so I decided to go cold turkey on all junk food like chips processed foods anything that’s obvious you shouldn’t eat and of course anything with added sugars. Fat started disappearing immediately it’s like a cheat code but it’s not cuz it’s not cheating. My mental and physical health is the best it’s been
Also how’s it been?
And lol at nebraska

I’ve never been consistent with anything in my life. IMO the diet part was really difficult I basically quit eating for a few weeks cuz I felt so shitty like withdrawals but once that was over it’s been easier every day.
I have a new found respect for anyone that can halfway maintain a diet

I’ve never been consistent with anything in my life.
A lot of people have that problem. A lot of people also tend to try to change too much stuff all at once, which usually leads to failure. Or at best, mixed results.
.....or at least that's been my experience, as well as observations of others.

What I've found is that it's easier to be consistent when only making small changes to diet and/or activity level.
Then once in the habit of that, add small steps to increase/improve what you are already doing. Ie: baby step your way in to it.

As for help to motivate one to start and maintain an exercise routine, try applying the five minute rule. As long as the activity is something you actually want to do, it'll work.

Good to see you back on here man!

So what is the line in the sand as far as junk food? Yogurt, beef Jerkey, fruit, nuts, stuff like that good with you?

Also I squatted 325 3x3 yesterday so I’ve got that going for me. Super clean reps too
Be careful.

Years ago, I would warmup up with 315, sets of 10, max ever was over 6..........now I cringe at 200. Be careful with the squat at high weight. Much better to do 20 @body weight than 3 at max. Protect your back

Recently there has been a movement against dedicated core exercises such as the leg lift or crunch, this is a big mistake, especially for high weight reps with other exercises.

that’s a tough question cuz I’m a weird guy and don’t really follow any plans. I keep a couple pack of peanut butter crackers in my truck or wherever as a snack to get me by, at home if I need a snack I eat pickled eggs. Was able to have some dairy for the first time since college and didn’t have any reaction, thought I was lactose intolerant since then but was definitely cuz of poor diet. the only fruit I’ve had in years is tomatoes I eat the shit out of tomatoes. I try to keep it really basic and boring trying to learn what I can and cannot eat without feeling like shit. it has been a really long process and I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t even wanna try anymore and just eat something I know isn’t gonna make me feel like shit which is normally eggs bacon hamburger and grilled chicken

This couldn’t be more true. There was no way I was gonna get back in shape and get active without doing something I really enjoyed or wanted to do I’m a really stubborn person like most men. I bought a crappy boat in may this year after I decided I didn’t want to be a loser anymore and was feeling good about the whole diet thing. Best decision I ever made I started water skiing and taking the kids tubing every chance I had this summer it’s been a hell of a time and all that extra sunlight helps too. Was out there the pat 2 days I got a wake surf board and that things been a blast it was tough to figure out cuz I’ve never wakeboarded. I tear that shit up on the skis tho

How’s everyone doing? I’ve gotten pretty fat lately due to so much business travel

Still working out when I’m home, but my cardio is non-existent and I need to do some deloading on my lifts

My plan is to workout everyday and alternate between lighter weight/higher rep/high range of motion lifting and rower cardio days

I’m following this program for the rower

The red text on there is from the guy I got this from. Nothing I’ve done

I did do the first week, but then was out of town for a week and a half.

Did the first day again yesterday and doing the second day tomorrow

Hope you're doing well man.

It's been a while since I've been back here but still doing PBIII from Barbell Medicine. Loving it and might rerun after I finish it. I've getting up at 4:15-4:30 AM to bust through the workout before the kids are up, I can generally squeeze it in under 60 minutes.

It has been going about like this since I went to a wedding and had a lot of food. Diet went off the rails.

Been doing pretty good with the workouts. I got out of the routine a few months ago, but have jumped back in these past 3-4 weeks, so I'm not too bad. My weight has been pretty steady fortunately, since I've still been doing the intermittent fasting most days. I want to start working on some mobility stuff, and increasing flexibility and range of motion as well as the typical stuff. Not sure what the plan is on that yet though, LOL

Need a recommendation on a new program. I’ve been doing more strength training focused squats and deadlifts, but I think I want to do more volume and focus on some bodybuilding type stuff

Shit man, like 2 right now. I actually did sets of 1 today. And then a couple sets with a band assist. Shoulder recovery plus being a fat ass is my excuse
Well, here is my suggestion.........you must have discipline

For the next month, eat no sugar, eat no bread, no noodles eat no fruit.........eat only meat and vegetables. Drink only water.

Eat all the eggs, butter, bacon, beef etc greasy stuff you want.

If your internal answer is "aw man I can give up my pasta" or some bullshit........then you will not succeed=no discipline.

You will lose a bunch of weight in 4 weeks, and magically, you will not be as hungry=cheaper

Your body will stop looking for the quick meal (sugar, carbs etc), and look to the fat on your body........because that will be its only option because you will be eating fat. Your body says "fuck it we dont need you to eat anything, we have fat to digest"=you will feel less hungry.

This cycle is stressful in the beginning, maybe 2 weeks, but then it gets easy.

Rationalization is a dangerous thing. Do not rationalize.

Imagine how easy it would be to do some pull ups if you weighed 40lbs less......it could be you in 2 months............with no exercise needed.

Yeah I’ve had success with keto multiple times throughout life. I can drop 30 pounds pretty easy but then I just get tired of doing it and pack it back on.

I’m gonna try and make a couple smart changes to my diet, but not going to put too much brainpower into it.

I like lifting weights because I like lifting weights and just want to change up my routine a bit

I’m never in one place long so I have to do a full body workout each time I work out. That means sometimes I only get a couple workouts a week but that is a lot more than I have done in years because that use to amount to none.
I was at my heaviest weight I have ever been last year at 258. They done my blood work and said I was a diabetic. My options was take medicine or get the weight off. I chose to lose weight. So I went from diabetic to pre diabetic and now not even pre diabetic. I’m now at 188 and thought I would never see under 200 pounds in my life again. It feels good man.

great good luck

edit:

You do not have the discipline to get where you want to go. I said nothing of Keto, but your rationalization has taken over, therefore you will fail.

Started losing weight last November. I’ve dropped 70 pounds in one year. Started lifting about three months ago and it feels great. After lifting I jog a mile none stop then walk a quarter of a mile for cool down. Went from a tight 36 to 38 inch waist to a 32 inch waist. 32’s are a little loose on me.
Great job! that's incredible work for 1 year.
