I wouldn't call it a landslide victory, but it looks like Trump has slightly widened his margin of victory over his 2016 win. If Harris stays at 224 electoral votes, that would be 3 less than what Clinton had.
By the current math, she cannot win ,of course this can be subject to magic, and lose.

If NV AZ and MI go his way, i would call it a landslide.

Nah. I wouldn't call it a landslide unless you get at least 2/3 of the electoral vote.

Trump has a solid lead, but still only a simple majority. He would need about 358 votes to pull that off? Unless my math is wrong.

It's literally not a landslide win by any definition of the term.

I'm happy Trump won. I didn't want Harris in office. But I'm not going to engage in this pedantic oversensational feel-good nonsense that puts him up on a pedestal for every little win.

That's what this is. It's a little win. You clap and move on.

House
Senate
Presidency
Supreme Court
+5 million w popular vote
=
Mandate
You can attempt to minimize it. But clearly oneside have everything go right and one had it all go left. If this isn't a mandate what would you call it now? Lucky?...

Without a supermajority the democrats can still filibuster.

I have low expectations. I don't think Trump will accomplish much in his second term.

He couldn't deliver on a wall during his first term. I'm hoping he can actually finish building it in his second. I'm not expecting anything more than that.

The democrats are going to filibuster every single day he is in office. They will do nothing except throw obstacles in front of him, and yes the minority party can slow down the gears of bureaucracy to an absolute crawl.

This was a minor victory. Without a supermajority neither party can accomplish much.

Well if you see this as a minor victory then what to you would have made it better? How much more could have happened? R control of all branches of govt is nearly unheard of

I am skeptical of the use of the word "mandate" in recent news since his victory.

Also, I am suspicious of the dems just conceding the election without a fight............kind of like two guys in the middle of a crosswalk, arguing about who has the right of way. A big strong guy, and a weak guy. All opon a sudden, the weak guy just simply moves out of the way, unexpectedly, and BOOM, the strong guy gets hit by a bus..........j

The wall was a Democrat proposal before Trump championed it. In a cost / benefits analysis, it is a stupid idea. I'm not talking in terms of dollars and cents, but in lost Liberties. So, if they can't build the wall, maybe you can achieve the same results with alternative ideas.

Trump won't be able to get a lot done. He is a lame duck president relying on unproven and inexperienced people that don't understand the system. Elon Musk is a guy that knows how to amass fortunes, not necessarily manage them. And RFK wants to be a "health czar." Do we need czars? What is RFK's experience and education relative to the subject matter?

The big tell is when Trump thinks he can make the right accept socialist concepts just because he's the president. Some of us will be thinking about what happens after Trump leaves office. He will some day.
