• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

I love Asheville, but the hippies/homeless ruin it for me

Went to the local Single A minor league game tonight, great seat, and was having a blast til the hippies showed up.

Got no problem with all the gays . They are clean. The hippies smelled. Even the hot ones had odor:

At least the beer was cold and the seats were great::

Ps: their tie dye hats and uniforms were badass

It is indeed full of dirty hippies. Went up there last week, but just went for a drive with a buddy in his Porsche on the blue ridge pkwy, then to Sierra Nevada for food & beers...not alot of hippies or homeless at Sierra Nevada, or driving the parkway.

Beautiful up there though, liberal hippies or not.

My family has a cabin in Maggie Valley. 30 minutes to Asheville and no hippies there. Short drive to the casino. It’s great
