• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Hunting and Fishing thread. Let’s see your kills.

Thanks, my man! Been hunting a long time, and was the biggest buck I ever got. Came out super early. Had to wait for enough light to take him. Longest wait ever.
I've been hunting for years and my biggest one is a 250# monster, 6 yo, 8pt. from a buddy's property in SE MN. I'm trying to see if he has the video of me with it on the back of the 4 wheeler backing down a hill and crossing the creek....he was hoping I would flip and get some great footage....the 4 wheeler trans. was messed up and would only go in reverse. He told me he was waiting for me to roll, I said nope, I'm a professional.

Regular hunting for me in the Hill Country of Texas rarely brings a monster, unless you pay big bucks on the high fence ranches but I just love being in the field any time I get a chance.

That’s a beast! They don’t get that big where I am (midlands of SC). On our property, the buck I got is about as big as they get. Might see a few around 200#. Would love to see pics/video of yours if you can find them.

12’3”

Where did you kill that gator? Thats a big damn gator, they don't make em that big here in SC. We have a bunch of them, but the biggest one i have ever seen is about half of that size.

@Astragalus parents live in swansea and we had a gator in our pond yesterday. It was tiny, only 3-4 feet, thinking it got lost of something. Not sure how it got that far inland.

I go every year in the fall gator hunting. That one is 3” smaller than the biggest I have ever killed. Okeechobee Florida is where we hunt at.

I don't have any pics, but I have a story...

I was maybe 11,12 yrs old and we stopped on the way back from a hunting trip at the convenience store/weigh in station. This would have been in the early 90's backwoods oklahoma. Of course you would casually stroll over if someone was checking in.

Imagine Lily from the at&t commercial as the checkin girl and a poor man's joe dirt.

As I walked up, Lily has this appalled look on her face and says, "Sir, you can't check that in. It's a goat!"

Joe dirt replies,"The fuck it is, look at those horns."

Sure as shit he had shot and field dressed a goat. Then was trying to check it in. I just walked away. Still laughing 30 yrs later.
