[/QUOTE caught one in a pine thicket one time when I was 15 I’ll never forget walking into the thicket and every tree in a 20’ circle was eaten to the ground, bastard chewed through trees with 3” base like soft bread. Learned that day not to use a long lead line on my traps.

Buddy of mine traps coyotes. He gets 60-100 each. Sells them to fox hunting clubs in the low country (old money shit I guess). He has a trailer built with individual cages and will save up about 25 and sell them. Makes 3-4 trips a year. On top of that, cattle farmers want to get rid of them so bad, they let him hunt their property if he will trap on it. I would get into it but you legally have to check them twice a day and they use skunk bait, hard to get that shit off before work. Takes some nerve to get a coyote into a little cage.

I’ve only trapped problem beavers, but it’s pretty cool. I started with the conibear 330 bad ass traps, but an older guy got me to try snares. Never thought it would work, but it does. A lot safer than the big spring traps for sure.

Snares are the way to go. My uncle can get it done trapping. Beaver, otter, hogs, he can do it. He uses snares for beaver. It works.

He has an Instagram page cutthroatcustomgamecalls- all calls are completely handmade. Don’t know how many duck hunters we have but they are high-quality calls. If anyone is interested feel free to send him a message. He’s pretty busy in the spring playing juco baseball but when he’s home he spends most his time turning ‘em out.
