Had this happen one time but not through my nail but just off to the side.

I was jug fishing with some friends one night and caught a big cat. I was trying to get the hook out and it started rolling in the boat a dug into thumb. Damn it sure did hurt. I had to pull the barb through the other side of my thumb. Tried to clip it with pliers but the hook was too thick. Had to get off the boat and drive to a friends house that was on the boat and his dad took a skill saw to it. I wasn’t thinking and right when he sawed it off I slide it back through my thumb and it was extremely hot from the saw and I could feel it burning my muscles on the way back through. Went back out and slayed them. My friends thought I was a bad ass. They’re just pussies though
