Already responded to this in the other thread, but I will post it again. This take is dumb as fuck. UGA earned the orange bowl by losing to Bama. So, zero chance to win the MNC, even if they were one of the top 4. FSU won every game and then was snubbed over their chance, by Pete Burns’ employer in collusion with the CFBP to get an undeserving SEC team in.
If we’d have lost to UL, we would have owned that. Even Norvell said so. These guys built a team, with many staying an additional year, with the intent of playing in the playoffs. Of course those kids were devastated.

This is actually a pretty reasonable take and it doesn’t even really highlight that putting in a one loss team with no conference championship over an undefeated team with a conference championship (Washington or Michigan) would require that one loss team to be inarguably better than that undefeated conference champion.
UGA isn’t inarguably better than any of the playoff teams. Their best argument would be against a Michigan team that handled their business decisively in a weak conference.
