I think a huge piece missing that is going to take a monumental effort to recover is that there is zero trust in the government right now.

We can have historical documents, and values, etc, but those things are given authority through trust in the government. And this trust has to be at or near an all time low.

Meaning: to a some degree our freedoms are already eroded. Maybe someone else can articulate better
