My wife and I are looking to go to Europe next summer. She wants to do Barcelona and I'd like something a little off the beaten path like Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary, Slovenia, or Romania. We might hit Norway or Sweden on our way home.

I'm mainly interested in recs for Eastern Europe. Anyone been over there lately? Any places to avoid? What was your favorite? yada yada?
