Only white people live there. Same thing as sweden and other Nordic countries. If you’re ethnically monolithic it’s much easier to pass a lot of socialist policies that make sense since the community is United and actually feels a sense of Unity.

Worked in Maine for 11 years. Outside the cities like Portland, Augusta and Bangor everyone owns multiple guns and protects whats theirs. No different than NH and Vermont. All of Northern New England is like no other place I've ever been to. The only drawback is the weather, the black flies and the fact that summer is basically the 4th of July weekend.
