Cost advantage to fuel electric car versus gasoline car is about to flip in Europe (link). Probably coming to America also...

True, but weight isn't much of an issue on rails, and of course you know those trains' electric motors are fueled with diesel anyway. Fair enough on the pickup trucks, regardless.
Further, IC engines get best power and efficiency at wide open throttle................with that being said, I have wondered why the hybrid idea did not use this principal to propel cars, like a train.

Who knows

Hope the EVs are not like iPhones, where you have to buy a new one when the battery dies.

otherwise, battery theft will be big business
Watched a video of a guy in Sweden I think blowing up his 11 year old tesla after he got a quote to replace the battery, for 22k, I will see if I can find the video. The above details might not be 100% from memory, but close.

If 22,000 euros is too high of a price to pay, for someone to do their part in saving our planet, then those people should use a bicycle or public transit.

Transmission over distance is also a factor. You pay for it indirectly as the actual yield is much lower than the source production. Everyone needs a back yard reactor to make this work.

This was the big sell by our electric coop going 100% solar during the day. It will save you money because we only have to pay that fee for nighttime.

It hasn’t been without issue. We’ve lost electricity several times on rainy days. Winter may be a bitch because I work from home and require internet. We only use our fireplace for heating the house. Most of the time anyway. We do have some small radiant heaters we will plug in but it’s not required.

How does this “tax/fine” fix anything. Explain purchasing carbon credits…..and how my buying/paying fine actually does anything (other than stealing peoples money…..didn’t we use to lock fuckers up for that, hell Jim Baker a preacher went to jail. Then What would we ever do to a politician? )

Tornado in NM, never would have thought. I am from Las Vegas.

It’s extremely rare where I’m at but we had one drop down and go back up two years ago. Eastern NM on the other hand gets them just like the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles.

Las Vegas huh? You still there? How do you like the town?

Bullshit....all yore Elites RUSH to wave a finger at us about Carbon emissions while flying anywhere 15 mins or longer. Then they say we paid our carbon tax to be "Carbon Neutral" which hasn't eliminated any carbon. So yeah, YORE a dumb POS TROLL. Also lose the act of not understanding America or College football. You claim to be from Georgia so there is literally ZERO chance you don't know this shit.

In fact, today would be a good day to Kill This Troll and try starting a new one.....you cant do any worse faggit.

I was born in Atlanta and moved to the UK before I was two years old so don’t act like you know me!

How do you expect to fight climate change if people in the know don’t travel and give insight to the less knowledgeable?

No, born and raised but have not been back since new years 2000. I grew up there, so for me, it was unremarkable..........likely like everyones self perspective on these things

OK cocksucker.........................since you are all knowing, what is the largest contributor, worldwide, to energy consumption and therefore carbon footprint?

I bit off topic..........but you brought up the elites..............I have always found it funny, that the British Crown is "ornamental and symbolic" but there are sure a bunch of world leaders who seems to "consult" the crown...........

I am not sure if we get along on here, so if we do, good post, if not, good post and then drown in a puddle

Transportation. Mainly burning fossil fuels for energy.

Second is emissions for burning fossil fuels for electricity production.

That is why it’s so imperative to switch people to bicycles, public transportation, and solar panels for electricity production.F684A0E6-A748-40BD-9E80-4C2B4E83145C.png

The days comin when you'll have to choose on a daily basis whether to charge your car or keep the lights on in your home. Won't be able to have both.
This simply isn’t true especially when American homes all have solar panels on their roofs and batteries in their attics.

Anyone with a brain can see that bullshit pie chart is from some liberal fuck think tank. "electric power" is encompassing all of the others but transportation. They just dont want you to see it.

Wrong................its refrigeration\air conditioning\heating.....its use its manufacture, its repair, its raw materials, its installation % efficiency loss per dollar...........air conditioning..................way bigger energy consumer than cars, trains, planes.

If yall are so righteous, move back to Georgia, spend a summer without air, without ice in your drink, and without you frozen tv dinners and see how you self righteous you are.

I plumbed the first solar community in NC........ 24 houses out of 2 million residents in the Charlotte area........first and only.......................know why its the only..................because the appraisal for the houses did not go up due to the solar system, $40000 bucks in all, per home, and the builder ate the cost, got not one penny in value for it. Fuck off

Well you’re wrong about those numbers because those numbers come from the official US government website.

To your other dumb point though we don’t use air conditioning here in the UK so I already have lived my whole life without it. People in Georgia should do the same. It’s a small price to pay to save the planet.

I am all about the electric car.......................but here is the thing...

They are going about it all wrong.............By that I mean that the work trucks and such should have been the first thing to change.

Typically, work truck and delivery truck are driven within the 300-350 miles range of currect EVs. They may be able to go a little longer due to the the increased carrying capacity of a 3\4 ton or above truck. Also, these type of trucks are usually owned by companies that are within an urban or commercial area where 3 phase power is normally available, making it easier for 480 volt charging to be done, and easier on the grid.

If they would have done that, and used work trucks for the guinea pig.........then figure out battery tech in real time, got public trust in the EVs, allowed the grid to catch up slowly, etc............
Battery operated vehicles milage goes to hell with weight. The new Dodge was only getting around 30 miles with a full load.

If you go look at my responses......you may find a hidden troll in there. 😜

Maybe. Mostly wasn't referring to you. I'll say, even if it fucks up threads, it is also amusing to see people getting trolled but they are too dumb to know it and think they are owning the troll instead.
