control valve water heater replacment @plumbers

mine was giviing me 7 led blinks on the status light, stating it has failed. after troubleshooting and trying youtube fixes- confirmed the valve has failed, ordered a duplicate replacement.

Odds i blow my self up replacing this thing? any tips

That seems like a giant pain in the ass. I had a water heater go bad couple yrs ago at my old place. I got an awesome 80 gallon tank for 700.00
Hooked it up in about 30 min.

The tank is fine. It's just the controlller
