• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

College football week 15! Championship week.

After last night no Georgia team will be intimidated by Bama again and no one will ever make fun of Kirby’s haircut again.

It is what it is. Let the lobbying begin.

Why don’t you like the CFP? I think it’s made the college football product better.

I also don’t get the Miami hype. If you can’t make the ACC Championship Game because you lost to SMU and Louisville, you probably aren’t playoff material.
Agreed on miami.

The problem with the playoff is that the regular season games don’t matter anymore. Every single game used to matter. Now Bama loses to fsu or Texas loses to Florida and, oh well we will just throw that game out and pretend it didn’t happen.

Games no longer matter. The whole thing, season, polls, and all, is a farcical subjective beauty pageant designed to get the most SEC teams into the playoffs. It is entirely possible we will have 5 SEC teams and zero ACC teams in. SEC won 6 of 10 games against the ACC and 2 of 3 against the B1G. Tennessee lost to all the ranked team they played and didn’t beat a single ranked team yet they are kept in the Top 25 to prop up the narrative. Once you see it, you cannot unsee it.
Been that way for years. Jameis and the noles won 29 in a row, including a natty, and got dropped all the way down to 4th in 2014. Never mind they won every game, they didn’t exhibit the desired amount of game control. FSU should have had Ohio state in Atlanta, but instead got shipped out west to play Oregon.

And so it begins. The committee is about to ruin college football. Cupcake OOC is all you'll see going forward.

Herbstreit is a clown. He says what ESPN/SEC pays him to say. This isn’t some type of analysis, it’s an attempt to lobby for his employer. Big OOC games are a thing of the past anyway. In the next handful of years we will have two super conferences and only conference games will matter. They may add a sec/big 10 challenge early in the year like basketball does, but it will be structured by the conferences.

So Texas’ bad loss Florida beat Bama’s bad loss FSU by 3 scores last weekend. But Texas’ bad loss against Florida will keep them out? And Texas is the only team in the country w 3 top 10 wins. It’s clear what needs to happen.
Maybe you haven’t been paying attention. Bama turned into a completely different team starting week 2. You need to increase your espn consumption to keep up.

NGL, Kirby maneuvering the GT game to a Friday and in the dome was genius. That is how deep Kirby plays this game.

The extra day of rest and practice in a game against GT in the dome is underrated.

Miami absolutely should be in the cfp and ahead of Bama and ND.

If we had the top 12 teams then ND and Texas should be in at 11 and 12.

Miami wiil reintroduce itself to college football fans vs Texas A&M, and it will be nice to see most of this board support Miami during that game.

Go Canes!!
