Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

I’d rather play UGA in the SEC championship. Bama matches up well and the hype for the dawgs is so overplayed right now. Barely beat Kentucky, Auburn and Florida. One play in the Texas game just derailed what was a very evenly matched game.

14-10 going into 4th quarter. Sark went for it on fourth down in his own territory. Longhorns completely unraveled after that

Why don’t you like the CFP? I think it’s made the college football product better.
I also don’t get the Miami hype. If you can’t make the ACC Championship Game because you lost to SMU and Louisville, you probably aren’t playoff material.
My opinion is that if Bama loses the SEC championship and gets left out it’s gonna implode. Conferences are going to consider removing championship games and if not teams are going to find ways to sit out. Lot of money to be made on those conference championship games and Dr. Pepper is not going to let that happen

Games no longer matter. The whole thing, season, polls, and all, is a farcical subjective beauty pageant designed to get the most SEC teams into the playoffs. It is entirely possible we will have 5 SEC teams and zero ACC teams in. SEC won 6 of 10 games against the ACC and 2 of 3 against the B1G. Tennessee lost to all the ranked team they played and didn’t beat a single ranked team yet they are kept in the Top 25 to prop up the narrative. Once you see it, you cannot unsee it.
Alabama did lose to the best 5-7 team in the country this year though

An argument could be made that more games now matter due to the CFP.
If Texas is left out for losing 14-7 to the defending national champion Ohio St at their house, the landscape of college football will change for the worse. You won’t see any marquee non-conference games going forward. And that would be a shame.
Had we played McNeese St instead there is no question we’d be in now. That ain’t right.
I understand the argument, but I really don’t see a scenario Texas gets in. Even if Bama loses to UGA they aren’t going to leapfrog Bama. Unless the committee decides to push out Notre Dame, which is not happening
