• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

Christmas gift ideas (for me)

This response is amazing...lol. All over the place and I love it! Diving is definitely something I could see myself getting into. Only problem is I live in the desert. Diving in Lake Mead, only thing I'm gonna find is some bodies with concrete boots from the early Vegas mob days.
Speaking of, what’s the water level in lake mead doing?

A few months ago the water level was so low that random bodies and boats were being found and it was making the news. Haven’t heard much lately.

Does the water level ever go up in lake mead? What’s the long term plan for water in Vegas?

Its still quite low. Not much different than it was a few months ago, maybe up a bit actually. Yeah, it fluctuates quite a bit but usually goes up January through May or so, when the snow melts and runoff are coming from upstream, then drops from June til October or so. Not sure on the long term plan because the water rights laws are terrible and Cali would rather see the lake go dry than reduce any of their water rights given back in the 1930's. NV has very tight restrictions. AZ and Cali, not so much. Most of the usage is agricultural, so restricting the general population won't change it that much. They need to stop trying to grow crops in the desert.
