In all seriousness, the problem with Bama is that they hired someone who was not part of the process. They have lost all institutional knowledge developed at that institution from 2007 - 2023.
They let that all go out the door. That institutional knowledge is at other places. They would have been better off hiring a Saban disciple.

They need a Gene Stallings to their Bear Bryant.
Gene was as Bear AF. Though Ray Perkins played for Bama, he never coached under the Bear like Stallings did extensively. Bill Curry had no connection to Bear Bryant.
You have to have the right fit.

I sat through the Goff, Donnan, and Richt Phase II.
I separate Richt into two phases. One before he got lazy -Richt Phase I which was pretty good.
Then there was Richt Phase II when he lost his ambition and got really lazy and started coasting.
Kirby is the best corch that UGA has or could ever have. We ride or die with Kirby. He is family.

I will say this. It was not in Georgia's best interest for you to lose that game Saturday.
Now Deboer is fighting for coaching life. It would be better if he was coasting instead of fighting with everything he has. .
The off week will help us though get in the right mindset though.

I will say this about Richt. He was probably smarter than Kirby or Saban in natural intelligence.
The game plan he had for the 2012 SECC was amazing. We had no business being in that game with Bama.
When Richt applied himself, the could do wonders. The problem was that Richt was just naturally lazy and that included lazy in recruiting.
He never applied himself. It is sad.
You have to apply everything you have everyday. Not just on special occasions.
