Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

When I was a kid we had a German shepherd that flies had done that to its ears. She was an outdoor farm dog basically, and the flies would make her ears look like hamburger meat.
Is there anything that says I'm white trash more than having a pit bull in an apartment or subdivision. Fucking love dogs but having a pitty with close neighbors you might as well leave a loaded shotgun on the porch for the neighborhood kids to play with...

I carry a can of bear mace when I walk my dog bc of the loose pitts. I don't mind the dogs but get a fence or a run. My dog is 140 and would fuck them up. I got the big one charging one morning and sprayed him w bear spray. He barked this morning but stayed a good 40 yards away. Just shitty owners. Barely feed them no fresh water. I call animal control every 2 weeks for a animal check
They can be great dogs but you need to understand they are breed to be aggressive and you never know what can set them off. Can be a sound or a smell. They have no business being in an environment that they will have to interact with strange dogs or children IMO.
They are essentially a loaded weapon and if one decides to go off you better have a gun close by because you will NOT be able to stop it.
Shit ton on how they are raised also. I've lived w Pitts and I don't mind them but I agree w your premise. I'm not a pussy so I'm not afraid of dogs
