Need context about who they asked this question to. I have yet to talk to one single person who supports socialism and its overall effects on a government. (and I live in southern New England)

I'd enjoy seeing how this questioned was actually polled (if it happened at all).

Public schools, Social Security, the military are all technically forms of socialism. I'd have to imagine some creative leading questions and wording were used to get to that point but that just a hunch.

I really don't think the left knows what socialism is. Like I said above a big part of what they define it as is "government doing stuff." I don't think they understand that actual socialism is centralized planning of the economy not the government giving them free shit or regulations.
