Yes. California used to be much different, but has been taken over by the democrats and far left, and flooded with illegal immigrants for decades. Unfortunately, being the most populous state, it does have alot of power at the federal level.

As far as gun laws, California ranks up there with the worst states in America...for law abiding citizens, anyway. The criminals have it pretty good these days.
