SignUp Now!Why don't they have the money? TV contracts? Not surprising. The PAC just doesn’t have the money to compete.
Coast to coast TVs will more than cover any downside.I'm sure they're going to make tons of money if they do this, but it seems like it would really suck from a logistical standpoint. It wouldn't be too terrible for football, since you only travel for 6 games or so, but it would really suck for all of the other sports that play more games.
Maybe it's just a power play though, to get more money/control in the PAC 12
Yes. The BIG contract is significantly larger than the PAC. I think each program would be leaving over 100M+ dollars on the table over the next ten years if they didn’t move if what I have read is true. Why don't they have the money? TV contracts?
I know the PAC 12 had a pretty good a while back, but you're right. From what I've found, the Big10 teams getting around $31 million per year and PAC schools getting around $21 million currently.Yes. That doesn’t take into account the new BIG contract they are working on signing at the end of this year is supposed to be the biggest in college sports and significantly bigger than the old contract.
Wow, that's crazy money!@LVRebel the new BiG deal is supposed to pay each school 95M+ per year.

There is no way either of those programs could ever complete when other big name programs in the BIG and SEC are pulling that kind of money.
Wooo. Rutgers games after dark. Now when I yell at the tv cause my team sucks, I can wake up the whole neighborhood.
Always like Rutgers for being the official college football team of the Sopranos.
I am of the opinion the SEC should rescind invitations to OU and Texas. It is obvious they are not up to SEC standards. It will only dilute the conference.
FIFY Faggit.
So Clem and Fsu to the SEC...? What about nc st or Vtech? Seems like you'd add more eyeballs for a tv contract with carolina and virginia school....
Between the time change and the different climate, those Southern California players are going to struggle with games in Big 10 country. I think the only schools in the PAC that have cold weather are Colorado and maybe Utah. But nothing like Michigan, Penn St, Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc.
I'm curious to see how the other sports will handle it. For basketball, you typically play 2 conference games per week. One weekday and one weekend. Are they going to plan to just miss school for a week at a time and schedule the trips to be on the road longer, or just have tons of long travel days?I can't wait for the 730 PM local time night game at the Rose Bowl with Rutgers versus UCLA.
Kansas has no chance. This is about football and no one watches Kansas football. My son who lives in KC heard on the radio that Oregon and Kansas were also rumored to be in that conversation
