Sorry to gay up your thread with an ACC quaterback ..... but Ugileilei is going to be a good QB and have a good year, but I don't think he has the speed to be a Trevor Lawrence type QB. He is just a couple steps slower and that makes a big difference in college. His arm stength is really impressive and the schedule pretty soft so he should have a good year. If we take down the Dawgs in the season opener it may be a while before he is tested.

Yeah, he is a big dude with a cannon for an arm. Pretty accurate also. Im not worried about his passing game other than him not having proven receivers. Usually we develop receivers pretty well and we have a few that are looking for breakout seasons so think he will be ok there.

My criticism is his speed. I hope he proves me wrong, but he was slow on his legs imo in his couple of starts last year. Of course his size makes him harder to bring down, but he is just not elusive like Lawrence was. Im interested to see how this affects play calling and run / pass mix. The offense we run requires the occasional QB sneak to keep the D honest, if opponents don't have to respect that its a big deal.
