Expect picket lines outside of every ADC now, and justifiably so. Allowing an industrial titan like Sony to acquire that chain ignores the monumental power differential which exists between the folks who produced the multi-billion dollar franchise that is The Spider-Man flicks, and aficionados of cult and genre films which have made only millions/Sometimes much less, and are nowhere near as world renowned as Spidey is
Both Sony and Alamo are woefully obtuse to the horrendous psychic trauma that's likely to be inflicted upon their patrons, each time they sit down to a screening of Deathstalker 2 or Coontown, only to recognize: "The forces of Mainstream Capitalistic CIS Heteronormative Hollywood have infringed upon our Indie Safe Space!!!"
Hell, as someone who's tastes in cinema lean avant garde myself, I'M developing PTSD just thinking about this shit!!!
