A person belongs to a group if they believe that they belong to the group and the group accepts them as a member.

My choice of Japanese and Anabaptists is simply because these are the only 2 groups that I find to be tolerable. So from my perspective, not arbitrary at all. Anyone who shares my values is likely to come to a similar conclusion.
