To be fair, Trump was likely going to leave as well. Probably wouldn’t have just picked up and left in the middle of the night, but we were leaving.
There wasn't a chip shortage either oddly enough...

There are nearly unlimited things to blame Biden and the left for, but the chip shortage is not one of them.
Whether we agree on that or not it's his job to fix it and to protect our interests.

Certainly nobody would believe he is behaving appropriately in that regard on this topic.

There is very little the US government can or should do to fix this issue. It is a market issue and should be kept in the markets.

You want the government, specifically Biden, in the middle of the electronics chip market directing traffic?

I’ll take less government.
The military for certain components? Absolutely.

The government doesn't have to control the whole market to subsidize the manufacturing of chips stateside like they do countless other products. It's really pretty obscene that they don't as a matter of national / economic security if nothing else.

The whole "less government" / "free trade" is reckless especially when communist China is the one being traded with / benefitting from the situation.

The US isn’t set up to manufacture volumes of these chips for commercial application. Military is not affected at this point in time. They don’t use commercial chips.

Commercial chips are only one facet of this and the military needs to be able to have all their products manufactured domestically. It shouldn't really be controversial.

Of course the US isn't set up to do it currently since they don't try. Stupid fucks think it's a good idea to rely on Taiwan and China to make this process happen when obviously they should be made here stateside.

If there is a shortage of a vital product in the US economy then I would expect the US government to act to protect the security, interests, and prosperity of it's citizens and their economy. Its one of government's roles according to The Founders.

The constitution is plain and understandable for the layman for good reason. Corrupt court decisions and bastardized legislation do not change the text and meaning.
I guess unconstitutional is ok if it meets your needs.

Section 8 of article I clearly makes what I'm describing reasonable and constitutional. Stop being obtuse:

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;

To establish Post Offices and post Roads;

To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;

To constitute Tribunals inferior to the supreme Court;

To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offences against the Law of Nations;

Yore the one talking about the "Exterminate White People Act"...

Furthermore, if Congress passes it, the POTUS signs it, and the SCOTUS upholds it then it is in fact constitutional so again I'm gonna guess civics isn't yore forte.
