Is anyone an insurance guy? I got offered a job today, that involves a company vehicle. I have a few things on my driving record and am concerned about becoming insured. If anyone can DM me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Are you asking about insuring a company car? Most companies I know that provide vehicles to employees provide the insurance for said vehicle as well. I have a company car a while I have to pay a small fee each paycheck for it, that is all. The company pays for insurance.

No, I’m worried about the company’s insurance company providing me coverage.

Lol. OP has multiple DUI's and is concerned that, as a condition of employment, (since they have to provide and insure said vehicle) he will not get the job when they see his transgressions.

Depending on the line of work will depend on just how fucked you are here. If it’s like sales or something try to work out a car allowance situation. If you’re in transportation depending on how your record is they may cut you loose.

I’m in insurance - Just depends on what you have on your MVR - 2 or more violations in the last 3 years and you will be excluded or put on probation - Auto insurance is really tough right now.
If you have a dui - it’s a non starter.
Speeding over 20 mph ticket - no dice

let me know what you have and I can give you an idea.

I had 1 DWI 6 years ago
I had 1 reckless driving 11 years ago.

Thanks. Fingers crossed. I’m switching careers from non profit management to Being a safety officer. It’s been hard to find a job with 0 blue collar experience. Hopefully all goes well Monday.

They’ll pull 5 years.
inown an insurance agency and they pull 5 years. If they don’t they don’t. They can pull up to 10 and 7, but there’s no need.
I was stupid on May 5th 2015 on the Outerbanks while on vacation. Life lesson learned.

On a lighter note, I’m not an insurance guy, therefore I can’t help you with your issue. I did however get a dui 13+ years ago but it has never stopped me from getting a job. One of my previous jobs right out of college involved working with juvenile delinquents and transporting them in a van. Hope this helps.

As others have said, you’ll be fine. They will pull a 7 year MVR but only consider past 3 years for minor incidents, 5 years for a major. If you’ve had any speeding tickets or similar transgressions lately the DUI may give them pause. If clean since then, no sweat.
