So this weekend I did some minor computer upgrades. New fans, new thermal solution, and a second 1TB M.2 SSD.
After it was all assembled the computer wasn't turning on. Turns out I bent 2 cpu socket pins. Yikes. I had to use hobbyist magnifying helmet and a needle nose tweezer in order to bend the cpu pins back correctly. I never want to do that again. That was very scary, especially when working with a $500 worth of motherboard and cpu....
I went with a thermal pad on my cpu. Big mistake. My thermal tests we immediately showing 100 deg c. Well not my computer is SOL until the 6th when my thermal paste comes in the mail. Post your setup below!
