Just depends on where you get your news. Ukr says they shot down 280 Russian jets. Many Russian military analyst doubt they have even flown that many jets into Ukr. In fact, most analyst have been asking "where are Russia's jets?". Stuff like that will make you question more if you look into it instead of just accepting what they tell you.

It is widely reported that Ukr has more tanks now than when the war started but for the last 2 months they have been begging for more tanks.... Where did all those tanks go? And.... just 2 days after getting approved for the tanks, Ukr is demanding f16's. Weird that Ukr is shooting down all these Migs and they need more jets. Seems like the 20 jets the EU offered should be plenty to shoot down another 120 migs.

Its a propaganda war. The west is hoping Ukr can stay in the fight long enough to collapse Russia. The war isn't going well for UKr but they have to say it is to keep the weapons and ammo coming. Russia has made gains since new years on the entire Eastern front. As soon as Bahkmut falls it is assumed that Russia will start their winter offensive. 300,000 new troops with 1000 new tanks and bmp's... and Russia's air force has been increasing it's presence the last few weeks... because Ukr is running out air defense missiles... which is why Zelensky is demanding more Patriot missile batteries.
