• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

NSFW- Need a name for a new business

Don't know about the name of the company but back about 15 years ago I got the best Tshirt from one of the radio stations I was working in Portsmouth. It was a concrete company the shirt was red with a concrete block cartoon (think Towly from Southpark). And the caption was "A happy Crack is a dry crack!". Then on the back was the company name and number. Shit was a great attention where Tshirt.

A lot of people say to name your company starting with an "A" or something near the top of the alphabet so you're at the top of the list on searches, etc. Not suggesting this, but you see a lot of names like AAA "Company" (fill in the blank), etc.

I really wish I had the nuts to go with Aardvark Concrete. Could make for a great logo

We use to have a concrete plant. Nix Ready Mix. Our slogan was “gets hard, stays hard.” Also had a shaving company that serviced chicken houses in east Texas. Slogan was “let your chicks bed down with us.” My grandfather is an old pervert that loves young pussy. Apple doesn’t fall far or whatnot

I would suggest naming it after what you would google in order to find it, like Concrete Laying Company. I had a neighbor that had a site work business. He named it Site Works and crushed it.

or just call it Alpha Concrete.
