I'd like to see whatever shit hole program you follow play Bama, UGA, UF, and usually a Top 15 OOC matchup every year and see how shit would go. Then give you Derek Dooley, Butch Jones, and Jeremy Pruitt to play that schedule.

I'm cautiously optimistic. When supposedly the best defense to ever grace a college football field has to fake injuries to stop your offense when you have 60 scholarship players, there's hope. If CFB ever comes up with a rule to address the faking injuries to slow offenses down the SEC is fucked. We may not win but we'll screw your season like we did with Bama a few years ago by taking out Tua. Football players aren't built for stamina, it's not possible to defend a good offense that runs a play every 15 seconds for an entire game. That will basically make these 350 lb DTs UGA and Bama trots out unplayable or short yardage specialists if you can get them on the field in time.

At the end of the day we're good in all 3 sports. In a few years I wouldn't be surprised if we won the SEC in all 3 in the same year. We'll see what's up with football. We have a game changer coming in at QB, unless you have a Saban or Kirby, that's usually how you become a contender. That being said I look forward to Ball St kicking our ass Thursday night.

Go ahead and call the Athens PD SVU in advance, because the Vols are getting raped between the hedges on November 5th.

If we're talking about the last 15 years then it's hard to overlook Bo Pelini winning 9 or 10 games for seven years straight. But if we're breaking down the current state of both programs then yeah, I'd hate to be Nebraska right now.

When picking anything related to the Vols, it's a safe bet to always imagine the most "Vols scenario" possible.

So here's my prediction for the season using that line of thinking.

Ball State - easy W, but the offense doesn't look quite as explosive as we hope for.

Pitt - brutal L that comes in dramatic, "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" fashion. All eyes move towards the UF game.

Akron - another easy W, offense looks like it's fully in sync, hype increases for the UF game.

Florida - inexplicable blowout L due to a comedy of errors (pick six, muffed punt, fumble at the goal line, etc.), fanbase in absolute shambles.

LSU - comfortable W that seemingly comes out of nowhere, fanbase calms down.

Alabama - blowout L, fanbase is pissed again because Bama is still seemingly miles out of our league.

UT-Martin - easy W, but doesn't move the needle because it's UTM.

Kentucky - extremely close W, fanbase takes it for granted because it's Kentucky.

Georgia - extremely close L, Vols gain some respect by playing UGA to the wire in Athens.

Mizzou - extremely close W against a surprisingly good Mizzou team.

South Carolina - extremely close L, media has massive circlejerk over Beamer and declares him the better hire over Heupel, fanbase in shambles again.

Vandy - blowout W, Vandy gon' Vandy.

Bowl game - blowout W over a ranked Big Ten team that creates high expectations for 2023, especially with Milton taking over in the second half and balling out.
