As long as coaches can up and leave whenever they want, or be fired at any time, players should be able to leave as well. The control schools and NCAA have over college athletes is so over the top. There is nothing like it.
What a lazy take. Greedy corporatists have been and will continue to ruin college sports. If transfers haven't killed the sport already, they never will, because tptb will never allow players to freely transfer without some sort of penalty. That part i'm totally fine with because coaches and schools get penalized in the way of a buyout when one side decides to prematurely end the relationship.
It has been working in OU's favor so I will allow it.
Many players aren't quite good enough to get on the field, but could be a 3 yr starter at some colleges. I am glad they have the opportunity to go play...if that is what they want.
Some schools have log jams and really good recruits are on the menu.
<checks notes>
OU has gotten a few of these and turned then into Heisman winners & #1 picks.
