It will be very interesting to see how this plays out. The French are not known for the relentless adherence to any policy that is controversial. For example, when Hitler announced he would be invading France, they simply rolled over and let him rule over them.
There was a classified ad in the leading French newspaper that read: "WWII rifle for sale, never fired, dropped once."

I talked to an Army Ranger who said the frenchmen he served w in Africa were no joke.
They should be. They can stay lean and invest a ton into training given their force can be much more focused.
OP can you edit thread title to clarify they are revolting over mandatory vaccines? It’s nationwide in France. Macron announced the authoritarian policy two days before their national holiday commemorating the French Revolution (which is today 7/14)

I'm with you here. They have been protesting the government for years as you stated and (Like CUBA now) the media has constantly changed/made up the narrative on their protests.

I haven't looked a lot into this latest uprising in France, but it does seem to have some similar outlines as the original Yellow Vest protests. Not what those devolved into, with communists rioting in France, but the original protests against climate change regulations and loss of sovereignty to the EU. I guess we'll have to see how this develops. These protests do not look like they are going away anytime soon.

Lucky for them. France is nothing to get excited about. I've been there and done that. They treat tourist like cold turds. They have a superiority complex that is not be be believed.
