My ego is writing cheques my body can’t cash.
When I was working in Beverly Hills and was drinking at the Ginger Man bar, I was talking to this very nice young woman and as we got closer to agreeing to go to my place she said something I would never forget - "You can whip me and beat me but don't make me write bad checks!" We got along just fine that night.
