There's a reason why it's called a Great White. Pontificate as you will....

Ya, I'm not getting that. Not like it was biting chunks out of the boat. It basically just smiled at them.
I've never seen a shark up that close, and depending on what sort of boat you're in, a shark that size could potentially do some damage to it. I know it's unlikely, but if it somehow punctures the boat and starts a leak, there's not much you could do.

That was a 23 foot boat, that shark was not going to put holes thru the hull and make the boat sink 😂😂

Saw a big ass shark swimming about 50 yards off the beach this past weekend. Had to tell some kids to get out of the water as they were swimming oblivious to the shark about 75 yards away.
Fuck that, that's why I'll stick to lakes and rivers. I know the chance of a shark attack is miniscule but damned if I don't think about it.

That would be pretty cool to witness first hand, but a little terrifying as well. I love the ocean, and swimming, but I'm not sure if I'd be up for swimming in Australia's oceans.
I stopped going to the oceans after flying over them in the Navy and seeing what was swimming among the swimmers. Big sharks and rays. On one trip I saw several sharks between the outer most swimmers and the shore.

Okay couple of things

1. wtf are you doing in a 14' boat there are things out there that will eat a 14' boat
edit: the shark was 14' and the boat was 23', still not losing sight of land on less than a 28' and dual engines
2. reason number 6574837563 I want to visit Australia but am to freaking scared

That boat was plenty big to be out on. Look at it at the end of the video. And no, a shark is going to eat a 14 foot boat either. Have you seen some of the boats people use to tag sharks? They can't just bite holes in boats.

I've seen people in a 12' row boat with a trolling motor on it 15 miles out tied up to oil rigs. Doesn't mean I'm gonna do it.

Okay?
Why the unnecessary stultiloquence?
Is there any particular point as to why you didn't just post this "...reason why it's called a Great White."?
Just seems so damn weird you've chosen to post such highfalutin floccinaucinihilipilification flummadiddle.

FYI: Yes, these are real words.
I'll translate, if you like.

That really cracked me up mate, cheers.
Regarding your previous post, I'm possibly a little confused maybe,...which is actually a very common occurrence.😅
NZ, where I live, aka Mordor, there's no Crocs here aye, and it's a pretty decent swim -"across the ditch"- to Aussie.

I definitely can point out some choice beaches around NZ, like Golden Bay.
If y'all think Crocs are nasty, the Māori believe there's these mythical serpents called Taniwha lurking the waterways here.
Basically water dragons.

Did ya'll know there used to be giant birds in NZ?
Check it out👇

The top video is what I saw. My sister's family was at Crystal Beach near Galveston last year and NOAA was catching and tagging sharks they caught in the surf. Some were up to 6' in length.

The biggest sharks in the ocean swim near shore, because that's where the most food is. The biggest tiger shark ever caught on rod & reel wasn't caught off a boat, but off the Cherry Grove, SC pier about 60 years ago. Weighed damn near a ton!

Clearly you don't live in Florida. I will stick to the ocean. I can see the sharks, can't see gators in the lakes.

I do agree with everyone, how in the hell is that terrifying? Put the motor in and drive away, it is not that hard. Sharks are big but their is a reason we are top of the food chain, clearly that screaming lady should jump off the boat and not reproduce anymore.
