I have an idea. It would be so cool if we could rig shit up that is typically stolen by these thug gangs so that it would explode 15 minutes after being looted and blow off the fingers of the human vermin that took it.

It could be like the dye packs in money bands when a bank is robbed.

seems like it’s a entry issue. Once someone steals, have an AI brain detect this and next time use facial recognition to let someone in the store or prevent precious shoplifters.
not sure if Amazon stores lock people out until they scan their Amazon account somehow.
I know not as revengeful as you would like, but there could be a double door system and if ejected the the floor drops and the shoplifter is ejected.
