Wife has a Model 3 and it is surprisingly a really great car, I love driving it. The one she has is rated for 240 miles per charge, but I would never go on a trip over 175 without charging options. I have an F150 we use for all long distance travel. No maintenance at all over 2 years, full charge when she leaves the house every morning, it’s a great ladies car. The few times we’ve used a supercharger it takes about 25 minutes for an 80% charge. Full disclosure I’m an Elon fan and my best friend works for SpaceX.

The few people I know who have bought one love them.

Are they good for the climate? Meh, i think the jury is still out. Is the earth a better place without artificially produced carbon emitted into the atmosphere? I think it would be hard to argue against that. Plus, Elon is not a climate change alarmist. If you listen to him, his stance sounds entirely reasonable. In fact, Elon seems to be one of the most reasonable voices out there right now in my opinion (less his prior support for Biden, wtf).

Like @Idiot_Runner said it seems to be a great idea for city and daily driving. Depends on how you plan to use it. I see more and more electric car charging stations going in all the time. Stopping to charge for 10-15 minutes doesn't seem like a huge deal if you had to do it. Most gasoline stops probably average 5 minutes anyway.

Let us know what you decide to do.

I've considered getting an Atlis or the new all electric F150. But, I drive a shit-ton and I get 550-600 miles a tank, whereas I'm gonna get about half that with an electric truck. There was a Rivian at the charging station the city put across the street from work, and it's no bigger than a Ranger, so that's out for me. I like my space.

Yeah, doesn't sound like the right fit for you. Maybe in 10 years when the batteries get better?

I think they stopped taking reservations for the electric Ford truck because it was sold out or something like that.
