So, they decide to modify the original strain, to make it spread much easier, so they can develop a vaccine for that?

If it's the same 'covid' virus essentially, why not work on a vaccine that's actually effective before trying to modify the virus into a killer one?

It’s too late for midterms but maybe for 2024. Not sure they go back to the same playbook but who knows. All bets are off if Trump is the nominee. We may Nuke ourselves

THe virus already mutated to spread much easier and faster, several times. So, yeah...that's why they try to get ahead of it and develop ways to treat it. How is this not common knowledge?

It's already mutated quickly and several times. That's why dealing with the original strain isn't as viable of a task. The vaccine developed for the original strain worked fantastic...against the original strain.

I would say most vaccines were for viruses that previously existed in nature. Not synthetic viruses made by man.

To follow up on @ChicagoFats also, no evidence has been shown to show that Covid was natural either. Early on, they stated that it was, even though behind the scenes, they were questioning where it came from and if it was accidentally released from a lab.
