• Pat Flood (@rebarcock) passed away 9/21/25. Pat played a huge role in encouraging the devolopmemt of this site and donated the very first dollar to get it started. Check the thread at the top of the board for the obituary and please feel free to pay your respects there. I am going to get all the content from that thread over to his family so they can see how many people really cared for Pat outside of what they ever knew. Pat loved to tell stories and always wanted everyone else to tell stories. I think a great way we can honor Pat is to tell a story in his thread (also pinned at the top of the board).

This guy is a creep. He absolutely screwed UNLV is his very short time here, leaving us in shambles, without a coach, after accepting the job here and then jumping ship almost immediately. Low character guys gonna do low character things.

Yeah they are. A lot of people here in Vegas were hoping they'd hire Lon as AD, but unfortunately, that never had legs. Hopefully Kevin Kruger can keep the Rebs on the upswing, but will stick it out here in Vegas instead of jumping to another job.

Obviously, the school will have to pay but if he rights the ship, no reason why they shouldn't be able to come up with the money. When the basketball arena is rocking, there's 18,000 people coming, plus lots of concessions and merch sales. When they suck, there's probably 3-4,000 people max at games. Those extra 15,000 tickets/concessions/etc, over 20 home games add up to a lot of money. At $40/person, even with a bump of 10,000 people per game, that would equate to $8,000,000 a year. Basketball used to carry most of the other programs, but since the admin screwed it up, they've been strapped for cash too.

Yeah, it put our school in a terrible position. He was pretty classless all the way around, but the admin was willing to take the risk for a couple years, assuming he'd win a bunch of games before moving on to another school.
 
Someone attributed that statement to her. Doesn't mean she wrote it or said it. If it goes to trial she is going to have to testify to it which puts that in conflict with the police report which several police officers likely heard.

No shit? Someone should sue the shit out of ESPN they can’t do that. They need to do things right they should of put something like “In a statement sent to The Associated Press by her attorney, Randy Leavitt” before the statements start just so we know it’s not this lady actually talking to us.

You guys still owe Mike Leach a lot of money. Pretty classless. Tech should honor their debt now to the family but they won’t because they’re bush league.
 
Not sure what Leach has to do with this, but I really hope UT keeps him. Stripe-out night at every away game will be lit! You know the SEC fans will be ready.
 
The statement released is attributed to her. It doesn't mean she wrote it. Could have been Beard's lawyer wrote it, or UT wrote it, or a homeless person on 6th street wrote it.

She will have to testify to its validity if this goes to trial. Then she has a conflict over what was said to the police (likely multiple police officers) at the time of the incident and a week later. Ergo, it will not come to trial from Beard's team pushing it.
