This will be a good thread, we can take posts down as the referrals are used. CC referrals are not bad if you can score a couple

I’m harder than Chinese arithmetic in a Diamond ice storm.

I have a ton of knowledge on this stuff since I travel so much. Happy to help. Most of my knowledge came from NDCorby on TheMB. I have the following cards:
AmEx Platinum
AmEx Hilton Aspire
Chase Sapphire Preferred
Chase Freedom Unlimited
Citi AAdvantage Platinum
Citi Premier
BofA Cash Rewards MC

Yes, but very minimal. There is a myth that it is bad for your credit, but the benefits far outweigh (unless you plan on buying property). I just opened another one two weeks ago, and I’m above 800 (pic below). That is also with me buying a new property and car within the last 6 months.

In my experience, closing accounts (reducing your available credit) hurts score significantly more than opening cards (increasing available credit). Have to be careful if you have 10 cards with an annual fee and you start closing them yearly to avoid the fee.

Correct in regards to closing accounts. And yes, the fees can add up quickly. I pay about $1500/year in fees, but well worth it for me. I’m fortunate that I get to book all my own travel and my company pays $500 of my fees.
