OK, I will be more specific then.........................About two weeks ago, I hurt my back at work. I am a licenced plumber in North Carolina, USA. Becasue I have to rest my back muscles, I have had to take it very easy, and take a lot of pills..............I have been a member of another forum, under the same name for quite a while, and was bored...............So I searched for alternatives to my normal site, with is generally about guns, and such.

This forum seems to have more to talk about than guns, and like to see others perspectives. I have a bit of an extremist view on many things that are controversial, but respect all opinions, as long as they are based in reality.

I am not technologically savvy, so I dont know all the abbrieviations and such......had enough of those in the military.

So, being as guns exist and cannot be un-invented, who should have them? Who should be trusted with the power and responsibility that a gun brings with it? Should I?

To give you a short background on me......I was in the military, more specifically in the airborne infantry, even more specifically, in a long range surveillance unit. As it is, a much more specialized field than regular line units. Graduated from many military schools. I have fired over 1 million rounds in my life and have saw severe combat. If you did not know, "airborne" signifies a qualification that allows a soldier to jump out of a plane, typically behind enemy lines to complete a mission.

The reason I bring it up, is...............self-preservation. It has been argued that self preservation is a trait of beings and creatures on this planet, that shows a positive cognitive ability. In other words, self preservation is sane, as opposed to insane.

With that being said...........choosing to jump out of an airplane (with a parachute)is not generally a sane activity............nor is being in a combat arms position in the military. To specifically"want" to be shot at does not increase you life span. I hope I am explaining this right.

I feel sick watching those cowards in the hallway at Robb elementary with all the "needed equipment" stand by and do nothing. I would have........without question. Buck naked with scissors, I would either die or kill the MF. Another point of non self preservation......

So, being as I have a limited sense of self preservation, should I be allowed to have a gun, to protect myself, or my children, or your children, if evil arises and needs to be put down?

If no, then who do you propose?

I see. Unfortunately. Most of the military, especially those in real meaningful jobs, such as combat arms are white. And typically those who serve are in fact nationalists. There are a limited amount of black and hispanic members, overwhelmingly white. In the service however, there are not supposed to be colors. Everyone is the same color..........green.

Oh, OK. Thanks for the clarification. i thought there may be some internet version of what it was. I am in fact a sophisticated person, and not inexperienced in most day to day things. Another definition I found was a "bumpkin" which I am not. Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, probably one of the most culturally diverse cities in the US. Mother was an ex gun runner, and father was a casino exec when the mob ran Las Vegas openly. Naive, not in the least bit.

The reason I ask is, in earlier conversations you had called me a Rube. After our latest conversation, would you still categorize me as a Rube? If so, why?
