I've long since considered that the primary breakdown in communication between conservatives and liberals is a matter of terminology. Often we might use a "trigger word" that brings up negative feelings about an issue to our liberal brethren, which can shut their brain down to anything else you have to say or, worse yet, hurt their feelings.​

Below I have put together the beginnings of a table that will help us speak to the progressive friends and family in our life, without turning them off by using no-no words. Please add to this list if you think of any others.
