Today marks 90 years of unConstitutional government. Is there gonna be a party anywhere? Or will it pass unnoticed by the ignorant masses? Our United States Senate told us this. Senate Report 93-549. https://archive.org/stream/senate-report-9...93-549_djvu.txt A majority of the people of the United States have lived all of their lives under emergency rule. For 40 years, (now 90 years) freedoms and governmental procedures guaranteed by the Constitution have, in varying degrees, been abridged by laws brought into force by states of national emergency. If freedoms and governmental procedures "guaranteed by the Constitution" have been abridged, that means that in those areas the gov operates in an unConstitutional manner and you and I have fewer Rights than those living before the emergency had. What happened on March 9th 1933, is that our gov amended the Trading with the Enemies Act to include American citizens within the definition of potential enemies. Then a banking emergency was declared in order to allow those powers (the power of war) to be used against American citizens who rightfully wanted their own money. We have been regulated as such ever since. Then just before the Bicentennial, our Congress enacted a law that ended the emergencies in name only, as they explicitly kept in place the unConstitutional actions noted in the Senate Report that the gov took as a result of the emergency. The way it is supposed to work is that once an emergency is over, all actions taken during the emergency are supposed to cease and one resorts to fully legal behavior. In this case, the government did not do that. What the gov did, amounts to an Amending of the Constitution via a simple majority vote of Congress. Which is supposed to be illegal.

Speaking of unconstitutional, let’s not forget the “Patriot Act”. Passed by republicans and continued and/or extended by every president and congress since it was passed.

Yes, that is yet another case of unConstitutional actions being taken during a declared emergency, that then becomes normalized and permanent.
...but the Act of March 9th was the first such case of an emergency being used to effectively change our Constitution.
