Geez, our country is pumping out the propaganda like it was late 2002/early 2003.

When the Cold War ended we (President George H.W. Bush) told the Russians we would not expand Nato into former Soviet republics. The Russians didn't get that in writing. That was a huge error on the Russians part.

They have told us repeatedly to not do that shit (expanding Nato to former Soviet republics). This is an old conflict.

The reasons are simple.

If we were smart, we would be lobbying Russia to our side in our conflict with China over the next century. We need Russia on our side.

What we are doing is dumb as hell.

I miss the old days of the Cold War where we didn't give a shit whether a country was a democracy or not, we would still do business with you if it suited our interests. Now we got all preachy and getting into other peoples business.
